DEADLINE
Scholarship
applications must be submitted each year by the following deadlines:
FALL
SEMESTER June 30
SPRING
SEMESTER December 30
REMINDERS
Bering
Straits Foundation (BSF) Scholarship application is reviewed and selected
by a Scholarship Committee before the beginning of each semester. If awarded,
checks are mailed directly to the recipient's college, university or vocational
program's Financial Aid Office. BSF then informs the recipient in writing
of selection results every semester.
Entire
application packet must be submitted each semester for (1) new applicants,
(2) students changing schools or (3) those taking leave from school for
a semester or more. Continuing Students (those awarded a Foundation scholarship
for the prior semester) must complete a mini-application to BSF by the
deadlines. Grades
must be received at the BSF office as soon as they are available following
each semester. It is your responsibility to ensure this is done. Future
funding is contingent on receiving final grades. If
your GPA falls below 2.5, or your credits earned are less than 12 credits
per semester or 10 quarter hours, you will be placed on probationary status.
You will have one more semester to successfully complete the minimum number
of credits and/or meet the minimum GPA requirement. If these conditions
are not met following this one additional semester, your funding will be
discontinued until all requirements are met. A Initial Application will
need to be completed for reconsideration.
If
you are planning to withdraw from school, please inform BSF immediately
in writing with the reasons for such action. If this is not done, your
chances for any future funding from the Scholarship Program are in jeopardy.
