Kristen
Timbers, Executive Vice President
The Board of the Bering Straits Foundation hired Ms. Kirsten Timbers,
in June 2007 to serve as Executive Vice President. Ms. Timbers is
a long-term Nome resident and shareholder of the Solomon Native
Corporation and Bering Straits Native Corporation. Ms. Timbers is
daughter of RoseAnn and the late Bryan Timbers. She is granddaughter
of the late Pete and Molly Curran of Solomon. Kirsten holds a degree
in Sociology and Human Services from Fort Lewis College.
Ms. Timbers organizes the Foundations annual art auction, last year
the event raised over $13,000 for the scholarship program. She oversees
the fellowship and scholarship program. Ms. Timbers most recently
developed a mentoring program to assist first time higher education
students in achieving academic success. |

Miles Reader, Executive Intern
Mr. Reader was hired in November 2008 to work as Ms. Timbers' intern. Mr. Reader has lived in Nome his entire life and is the son of BSNC & Sitnasuak shareholder Dewey Green and Mary Reader. He is currently a senior at Nome-Beltz Jr/Sr High School. In July Miles will travel to Washington DC where he will intern with Alaska State Senator, Lisa Murkowski. In the fall, he will pursue a Bachelors degree in Business Management at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. |
