Welcome! BSNC has compiled the USGS Alaska Resource Data Files for the Bering Straits Region. You may want to download these files yourself at the ARDF web site (http://ardf.wr.usgs.gov/quadmap.html). Just choose the the quad sheet (1:250000 scale) to download the data. But if you'd rather get the information in a format that is more user friendly check out the choices below.

Information, Seward Peninsula Direct Link to Alaska Resource Data Files (USGS) MSAccess Dataset: MSAccess(Version 2000 and up): This is a data set up for use with Microsoft access. It contains all of the information available for the ARDF for the whole region. This dataset is also very useful within GIS systems that have the capability of importing Access datasets. To import into Arcview or other geospatial software, download the file, unzip it to the proper folder, and use the SQL connection capabilities your software (note: NT users may need to set their environment variables). ARC Shape File: (*.shp) This is a compressed version of the complete dataset. Due to the restriction of field lengths in the DBF tables, only those fields containing less than 254 characters are included. Therefore the user will not receive the memo filed contained in the original dataset. It is recommended that MSAccess version be used if material in the memo field is pertinent to your research. |
